Food Review: 12-Inch Pizza Records at V Hotel at Lavender MRT, Singapore

Want to know where to find the best cheese fries in Singapore?

12-inch Pizza Records at V Hotel! Located on the 4th floor of the V hotel that is just right beside Lavender MRT (take the hotel escalator), it is actually really close to my workplace. So on my birthday this year, we went there for lunch!

The place is actually set up by the Timbre Group - basing off their popular super thin crust pizzas in their pubs.

And now, my dear readers, lay your eyes on the best cheese fries in Singapore.

No I am not exaggerating. It is simply the best I've tasted and ever will, I think.

The cheese fries ($8) was piping hot, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, drenched with so much of that cheese sauce.. Wow. I can go from skinny to fat if I can eat that every day...

That was a surprise hit. Nobody expected it. We did order other stuff as well. For example, the stuffed meatballs called Great Balls of Fire ($10), which was excellent.

We also got 4 12-inch LP pizzas to share. First the garlic shrimp pizza ($17) which was the favorite of the bunch. It is made with shrimps, sliced onions with bordelaise sauce, garlic lemon butter and mozzarella cheese topped with chopped cilantro.

The sweet bordelaise sauce base and the generous sprinkling of shrimp makes this really good!

Next up, the Goodfellas ($19). Made with shrimps, sweet garlic butter and curry leaves sauce and mozzarella cheese. Topped with crispy egg and cereals. It was an interesting pizza.. I like the crispy egg bits (you get that normally with fish beehoon and fried egg).

Then we decided to be adventurous and went with an Indian-inspired pizza. The Jai Ho ($19) had lamb kebab bits, sliced zucchinis, sliced tomatoes in tomato pomodoro sauce and mozzarella cheese. It was topped with crispy thin sliced pappadum and lemon wedge. This was a tad too weird for me, the lamb taste was a bit too strong.

Last but not least, the perennial favorite and famous Roasted Duck with Hoisin Sauce ($19) pizza! It is actually made with  sliced roasted duck, hoisin sauce, shiitake mushrooms and mozzarella cheese. The curly things you see on top were actually fried popiah skin and drizzles of hoisin sauce.

It was good, no doubt, but unfortunately everyone was a bit too stuffed to really appreciate the pizza to its fusion glory. I do think I would give this another try one day just by itself (and cheese fries). I would imagine some cider to go really well with it.

Go for their fries and pizzas only. Skip their mains like pastas and stuff because those were bad the second time I went. Super plus point is this place is absolutely deserted during lunch time!
