Event Report: Itacho Sushi Giant Bluefin Tuna Menu

I'm sure you guys have heard of Itacho Sushi before? For those who haven't, ITACHO (which means chief chef in Japanese) is a HK-based sushi chain that is very successful overseas and here in Singapore since it opened its first branch in ION a couple of years back (by the way, if you are wondering why it is missing at its B1 location, its because it has moved to #B3-20!). 

I still remember the super long queues because they have these sushi promos for selected items going for cheap. In any case, it is not exactly lelong-cheap to eat in Itacho, but I've always been happy with the quality of the sushi, and visit their Bugis branch regularly for lunch whenever I feel like having some happy food.

In any case, they are having a special promotion around a very special fish. The Wild Bluefin Tuna! (Before you think they are swimming barrels of radiation, note that they are caught from outside of Japan so no radiation there).

In conjunction with Itacho Sushi's move to B2, they held a Bluefin Tuna Festival at ION recently.

Here are some highlights from the event:

Giant wild Bluefin tuna fish cutting (about 120kg) by the Master Chef of ITACHO. That tuna is humongous!

KOI drawing by local celebrity Edmund Chen Zhi Cai (recently recognized by the Guinness World of Records for the longest drawing). I didn't know he can draw, but wow.

Here's the special Bluefin tuna promotion available at all Itacho outlets till 30 Oct. I'm not sure about that boiled radish eyeball or forehead teppanyaki.. LOL.

PS: I heard that ITACHO is preparing for the opening of their 7th outlet @ the new Bedok Mall (still being constructed) in November this year, so easties rejoice!
