Event Report: Häagen-Dazs Chocolate Hazelnut Brittle x illy Coffee Creations

Introducing the new Haagen-Dazs ice cream flavour - the Chocolate Hazelnut Brittle!

They are available for a limited time in 100ml for $5.50 and 500ml pints at $14.50, so get them while you can!

I have a pint at home myself and can't help sneaking a little scoop every other night.

We also attended an ice cream workshop to taste and hand-craft 3 new coffee creations crafted specially by Eduardo Vastolo, illy Barista Trainer for Asia Pacific region.

They are available in all Haagen-Dazs outlets from now till 14 November.

1. Chocolate Hazelnut Iced Latte ($11.90)

This was by far my favorite of the lot. Made with cold foam, blended coffee and the chocolate brittle, with some biscuit bits! Simple, and delicious.

2. The Macchiato Brittle ($13.90) had a very interesting innovation - there's a gap in there!
It's to separate the cold ice cream and the hot (below). You then drink it with a straw!

3. Lastly, the Cafe Brittle Sunrise ($12.90) showed us how it is possible to achieve layers with coffee and ice cream. A very cool sight to look at.

We also had the chance to try it for ourselves - look at this adorable illy machine! Looks like Wall-E's brother.

Here Eduardo is making the coffee ice cream with the gap.

This was our team's creation - the "Thousand Layer" Ice Cream Coffee Creation - half a shot of illy espresso, followed by cold foam, then macadamia ice cream, then biscuit crumbs, hot foam, new chocolate hazelnut brittle ice cream, topped with more hot foam, drizzled with final half espresso shot and served with a cookie and choco stick (straw stuck inside). Eat with spoon, drink with straw. Not for sale. It is really a thousand layers.

Lastly, a group photo!

Thanks to Kult3D and Haagen-Dazs for the invite! I enjoyed myself very much, and now it's time for me to get another scoop of that delicious chocolate hazelnut brittle ice cream :)
