As you guys would know I am a huge bubble tea fan. And some of you might know that I am an even larger AVOCADO fan. So much so that I try to eat smashed avo toast during the weekends - they are simply the best. So when LiHo invited me to try out their new avocado drinks I accepted the invite faster than you can say "avo". From tomorrow onwards all of y'all will get to try the Golden Avocado Milk (M $4.50 L $5.90) and the Cheese Avocado Smoothie (L $6.90)!

We had a great time at the party, with light bites catered from Nene Chicken and even did an impromptu cheese topping blind taste test!

I did a vlog to review what I felt about the two drinks. Personally the Cheese Avocado Smoothie gets my vote between the two only because the flavour is made even more complex with the salty cheese foam topping, on top of the gula melaka and avocados, blended with fresh milk and coconut milk.

Thank you LiHo for inviting me to the Avocado Party! Remember to try the drinks out from tomorrow onwards at all LiHo branches.

Great news for authentic Italian gelato lovers! I am happy to say that there’s finally one around the CBD that is worth the calories, located right next to the Art Science Museum (that lotus shaped building), on Level 1 of The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands. Turns out, the owners of Da Paolo are huge fans of Chocolat Milano, a famous gelateria in Milan with over 60 years experience, and have decided to bring Chocolat Milano AND their ingredients to Singapore.

Chocolat Milano uses 8 types of cocoa from all over the world in their artisanal gelato, so I know I won’t be disappointed with the flavours. I wasn’t. I was with my friend and I picked the straciatella (my personal favourite and de facto gelato choice) + dark chocolate and my friend had the pistachio (so nutty, so fresh!) with the nutella (it really tastes like real nutella in smooth creamy form). There are 12 flavours to choose from and a couple of them will switch in and out (like Coconut was a special flavour).

It's $8.90 for 2 flavours in a small cup (careful of the drips!) and $10.50 for 3 flavours. Or just $6.90 for a mini.

When I tasted it, I felt transported back to Rome where gelato’s everywhere. For some reason it is difficult to get the same smooth and creamy texture back here in Singapore, even if we have more exotic or local flavours. I just want my classics done right!

There are also other savoury food at the 1-month old Gastronomia at MBS, like the beef lasagne (in a ready to heat container) and pastries, including their famous crodos... and of course the famous tiramisu never gets old.

I think it is a great idea to have a gelato counter just right beside the Art Science Museum so people can pop in and have a good gelato cone while exploring the sights of the Marina Bay, plus have some light bites. Try the gelato if you are in MBS. According to my friend she gives it a 8/10 and I have to concur!
