Bubble Tea Opening: The Alley Luxe at Cineleisure L2, Singapore 239695

I had the pleasure to be invited to visit The Alley Luxe at L2 Cineleisure before they were open to public last week (they're open now!) to try out all their drinks as well as check out the pastries addition (which is the first ever in the world and also explains the 'luxe' part of the name - more will follow after). In fact, given how ubiquitous bubble teas are nowadays, the pastries part was the unique component that impressed me.

The pastries I tried that day were great and all freshly baked on the premise. The good thing with The Alley Luxe is you can order some bubble tea AND sit down to have it with pastries. If only they have a non-takeaway version of the bubble teas! 

The are sweet French pastries like the almond croissant (S$5, plain for $3.50), pain au chocolat (S$5), kouign-amman (S$4.50) and cruffins (S$5) and also a savoury Gourmet Sausage Cheese Croissant (S$5.80). They were loaded with French butter (and an extra stick of cocoa in the pain au chocolate) and very enjoyable. The cruffins in particular were exquisite in the 4 flavours (kaya, chocolate, salted caramel and the bestseller lemon curd).

I tried most of their drinks, and of course the signature Brown Sugar Deeroica Fresh Milk (S$5.30). I really enjoyed the texture of the pearls, and the balance of the brown sugar and tea (or milk). Watch my vlog to see what I compared it to.  However, other drinks are also worth trying out, such as this Matcha Brown Sugar Deeroica Fresh Milk (S$6.30).

I also enjoyed their Aurora series Northern Lights (S$8.80) drink but DEFINITELY do not see why it needs to be priced at that range. It was a slightly fizzy grape flavoured drink once you shake the Instagrammable layers.

I think among the drinks, what surprised me the most was the Snow Velvet Peach Oolong (S$5.80) which is the 4th from left in the pic below. I loved the hint of peach that wasn't too strong that was coupled with the cold brewed oolong (compared to the steeped ones for their milk tea).
