Opening Review: Kam's Roast at #02-210 Jewel Changi Airport, Singapore 819666

I had the honour to be invited to check out Kam's Roast's second restaurant opening in Singapore, set right in our (crown) Jewel Changi Airport integrated mall that welcomed visitors from April 11.  The 75-seater restaurant is set on the second floor of the super-impressive building (like Avatar meets Jurassic Park meets Marina Bay Sands and Gardens by the Bay) which had other restaurants on L2 lining up as well to provide food and refreshments for weary shoppers and travellers.

What's special about this Kam's Roast restaurant other than the one at Pacific Plaza is that it offers a special Roast Duck Travel Gift Pack (S$60+) which has their signature roast duck for takeaway. Which means you can get it for your overseas friends (except HK, maybe haha) as a tasty present before you fly off.

There's a promo now till 26 May for lunch takeaway (10am-5pm) of free half marinated egg and 2 slices of marinated tofu on any order of roast meat rice/noodles plus $1 for cured sausages (worth S$8.80) with minimum $40 dine-in spend. This is applicable for both Pacific Plaza and their Jewel outlet.

You can see all their ducks lined up in a row.. and a few little pieces of their roasted meat and BBQ pork.

We had all their greatest hits when we visited for tasting that day and I must say.. this branch impressed me even more than the  Pacific Plaza one! The dishes were all brilliantly executed with the level of detail one might expect of a Michelin-brand chain. Why fly to HK when you can just stay here and enjoy all the roasted meats?  Their Signature Roast Duck in secret sauce was still tender, juicy and very delicious.

Their Suckling Pig was such a treat as well, especially with the crackling skin.

However, the MVP of the day was the Iberico Char Siu (honey bbq pork) and the Toro Char Siu which was sticky, sweet, and melt-in-your-mouth good. I've never had something like this elsewhere in recent memory.

Literally the best. Look at the glistening fats and charred bits and the gentle gradient of the redness in. Ah, heaven!

We also had some roast meat, which was alright with some mustard. Given a choice I'll do the duck + char siew + some rice :)

I did enjoy the cured sausages (lapcheong) as well which is surprisingly a good appetiser. These are also available for takeaway. Also it's $1 add on for any min. $40 dine-in from now till 26 May!

Along with the cucumber slices, which was crunchy and refreshing.

Overall, Kam's Roast is a great stop for a pre-flight or post-flight meal when you land in T1 or T2 because of the proximity and more importantly, the quality of the food. I would highly recommend going here instead of queuing for fast food if you want to enjoy your meal in a less chaotic and tasty manner!
