I just got back from an electrifying performance by Hoobastank, courtesy of FIJI Water Singapore! I had loads of fun hanging out at the VIP area of The Coliseum, jamming to some of the less-known songs by the LA band. To be honest I didn't really know what other songs they have, until I heard a few familiar tracks which you would be able to find out on Youtube.

We were well hydrated through out with the smooth and refreshing FIJI Water.

Not a huge crowd, but an enthusiastic one!

Of course, THE REASON for us is to hear them play that song. Which drove the crowd wild!

Here it is, in its full glory. The lead singer's a bit pitchy, but really do sound good live, all things considering. Do you know it's been 10 years since they debuted the song?

After the song, the lead singer was saying how one of the most frequently asked questions they get is if they tire of playing the song all the time. And his answer is so good. He said they could never get tire of playing a song that so many people love, it's like you wouldn't get tired of singing Happy Birthday during birthdays right.

Have a great week ahead guys!

Vegetarians, this will probably be not the best place for you to go for dinner, because at Hungry Heroes, even the fries are made with meat. But IF you are not a vegetarian, then good news! Hungry Heroes is a newly set up meat lovers restaurant and super hero collectors' paradise, all rolled into a contemporary and modern offering on Tessensohn Road in one of the shophouses opposite the Civil Service Club. The reason why it's named as such becomes apparent when you walk into the restaurant.

There are hundreds of superhero memorabilia, print, sculptures and collectibles in there!

Alongside really cool lamps and furniture, like this trombone lamp.
I was really enamored with it.

Here's the menu for your kind perusal. You can really well-priced meats done a la minute for as low as $20 for a sirloin. The chicken ones are under $20. Really affordable! And of course, there are other items such as those from the deli, and light bites. What we were really in a treat for though, was their Hungry Heroes Platters.

Besides meats, they also have a huge selection of craft beers, and a well-stocked bar for anything else. We had a craft beer tasting after the food, which was really interesting.

But before that, I must introduce you to the best invention since sliced bread.

LUNCHEON MEAT FRIES. This would probably be my favorite of the night, surprisingly. But it is really nothing like I've tasted before because the luncheon meat is non-greasy, and baked/fried? to a very light crispy texture, while the taste still comes through fully. A definite must-order!

We also had two platters to share. The first, is the Steak-Out ($108, serves 5-6) comprising of 200gm ribeye, full rack pork ribs, pulled pork, sausage trio, 250gm de-boned chicken leg, beef stew and veal osso bucco. It was also served with some grilled veggies, gherkins and sauerkraut to help balance out the meat, I suppose (they did help, in fact!). This is a really value-for-money and more importantly, fun platter to have among friends to sample all the different types of meat. The pork ribs was particularly tender, and the pulled pork could easily sit in between two buns to make a really delicious burger.

We also had the Nice to Meat You platter ($56, serves 3-4), which is like a sampler of the previous platter. It had half rack of pork ribs, 200gm sirloin, 250g deboned chicken leg and pulled pork. There was some grilled veggies and super duper awesome mashed potatoes (of all places). The mashed taters was the highlight for me, really. If you did't get this with your meal, try requesting for it!

Lastly, we also had the Tenderloin ($32), which was good. But not exactly superbly spectacular. It was just a solid good piece of steak. This is good for those who do not want to order a platter.

After the meal, we had a tour around the shophouse restaurant! The owner collects superhero stuff, and obviously Marvel made a lot of money from him over the past decade. There are 3 statues of Captain America, Thor and Iron Man overlooking the bar, for example. Avengers!

Their selection of craft beers was also impressive. They had a good range from Japanese to UK beers.

We tasted some of them. Of which the Hitachino Coffee Stout was apparently in top 10 of the top beers in the world! The coffee taste in it was really strong.

Here are some more photos of the place. There's actually a second floor (pictured below) to accommodate more people, and all the furniture are for sale! The owners are looking to open up the art/furniture space a couple of doors down so we'll be expecting to see more cool pop-art type furniture popping up soon.

The female toilet on the second level has a very cute tap :)

Lastly, a photo of Mr. Captain America.
I'm testing to see if his chest is really as hard as it looks.

If you have a meat craving, you know where to go. Otherwise, soak in the ambiance of all the cool superheroes surrounding you, and have some beers to go with your luncheon meat fries. That will be a SuperHero Combi!
