Cafe Hangout: Broers Cafe at 3 Petain Rd, Singapore

Went to a cafe that was on our radar for some time - the Broers cafe. It was also covered on the Sunday Times indie cafe special so we thought it must be a must-try.

The long black coffee was quite nice and fresh. My iced latte was wayy too milky and served in a plastic cup even though we were having drinks there. They were out of food when we got there on a Sunday evening. Plus it was the aftermath of a Halloween celebration it seems cos black cloth covered the windows and there were some leftover decorations. Perhaps that made the place seem really odd - the inner portion of the cafe was really dim and didn't exactly create a nice first impression. Sound really bounces off the walls as well so we could hear everything from the noisy group of people at the next table, even though we see 2 students studying inside as well. I felt like I had to shout to make myself heard. Perhaps due to all these strange factors (dark interior, halloween, out of food sunday, large group of chatty people) convoluting into one less than pleasant experience, I won't be going back there any time soon.
