Bacon is enough to pique my interest. I heard from my colleague that their iced coffees are also not too bad.
I also found out that it is actually opened by a blogger turned entrepreneur, from Sarah's Loft which I used to read! (I thought it had gone on hiatus... time to re-add it to my Feedly!)
Prices are slightly on the high side for a neighbourhood shop space though. A cake plus coffee would set you back easily by 10 bucks.
Pictures!
The bakery was really small and could probably seat 10 people comfortably. I liked the little knick knacks they have in the shop which reminds me of L'Etoile Cafe at Farrer Park.
They have an Elderflower Cranberry cake ($2.80). I wonder how that tastes like.
Potted plants dot the place. You can buy them!
A bit expensive at $40 each...
Some stationery and stuff.
Books and magazines for leisurely reading.
That Sweet Tooth book in mint is full of delicious looking cakes and recipes.
They have POPCORN cupcakes. Now how special is that?
And finally, what I had and was looking forward to - the Maple & Bacon ($3.50) cup? cake. I am convinced that whenever you put maple or bacon as a name of any food, it becomes attractive.
It was quite a glorious experience. The bacon was soft and chewy instead of crispy, but filled with flavour, sitting on top of cream cheese and walnuts. The cake base was buttery and more dense than your usual cakes, though I suppose it had to hold its weight against the toppings!
