Hi guys! I’m happy to share some good news with you! You know how it’s so difficult to find healthier food options nowadays when eating out? Some will then opt to cook or bring their own meals out, but for people like me who are really not much of a cook, my dining options are what it is. I think Health Promotion Board (HPB) recognized that fact, and has worked really hard to get restaurants and food stalls to come on board in this new Healthier Dining Programme to offer healthier dishes to consumers. In the next few weeks, I’ll be reviewing the some of the dishes to see if indeed healthy can also mean tasty.
ALL FOR YOUR BENEFIT!
Meanwhile, do look out for the ‘Healthier Choices’ decals and stickers at participating partners, and also in the menu to indicate which should you order. I've listed some participating restaurants here (full list including food courts are in this table which will be constantly updated as more partners join).
The more I read about the Healthier Dining Programme, the more impressed I was at the level of effort put into it. Restaurants have to change their menu, innovate new items with alternative ingredients or see how existing ones can form new combinations that fit within 500 calories. They also offer water for free so you don't need to order sugary drinks! Refer to the list of qualifiers on the HPB website to see how a restaurant can qualify to be part of the programme...
