Checked out the hip and trendy Xiao Ya Tou on Duxton Hill, Tanjong Pagar area last week during their soft launch (just drinks and sliders). They are a contemporary Asian fusion concept by the guys of Symmetry and if anyone knows how to do atmosphere, it is them. Here's hoping the food's good - the cock wings were superb when we were there for drinks and bites. I also heard that a Slayer coffee machine has been invested in this place too, so it's not just for alcohol!
Here's Xiao Ya Tou's dinner menu -- the starred ones were what was available, but I think the rest should be ready now. Things like oil-fried soon hock and char siew!
Our sliders ($6) aka kong ba baos were decent, even if its 6 bucks each. The chicken meatball one was better than the kurobuta pork cheek!
The cock wings (S$12) were the unanimous favourite at our table -- there's a delicate lemongrass fragrance, and the spicy kick to juicy chicken is what we need.

Found the char kway teow (S$13) to be a tad too salty for my liking, but also yummy in a comfort food way.

So far so good - will be back to try their full menu next time!
