Pre-Event: Whisky Live 2016 from 12-13 Nov at Capella Hotel, Singapore 098297

Attention whisky lovers! The "World's Premiere Whisky Tasting Show", Whisky Live 2016 will be showcasing at Capella Singapore at Sentosa from the 12-13 November (Sat/Sun). Starting from S$99 per day, you can get to sample all the whiskies available at the stand, 2 portions of food (by Capella Executive chef, David Nicolas Senia) and 1 cocktail per bar at the pop-up bar. There will also be masterclasses available by esteemed whisky experts and mixologists.

This year, Whisky Live Singapore will have its biggest show yet, showcasing close to 300 expressions and over 60 whisky and spirit brands. The Macallan will make its debut, together with three other main brands of single malt whisky, namely Old Pulteney, Balblair and AnCnoc.

Guests will also see the return of some of the world’s most notable distilleries such as Glenfiddich, Dalmore, Kavalan, Aberlour, Mortlach, Nikka and many more.

What I found of note is - organiser La Maison du Whisky has decided to bottle the last two barrels of Karuizawa they still owned - the Karuizawa 1965 Bourbon Cask and Karuizawa 1965 Sherry Cask, in celebration of their 10th anniversary. I found that the prices for these vintage bourbon and sherry are on par with cars! On this special occasion, whisky writer Dave Broom will be hosting a comparative tasting of these two barrels on Saturday 12th, 1pm.
