Cafe Hangout: VXX Cooperative at 20 Foch Rd, Singapore 209261

The cafe scene in Singapore has such a high turnover, I haven't even had the chance to try out 20F Specialty Coffeehouse at the hip and trendy Jalan Besar area before it got transformed into the next third-wave cafe, VXX Cooperative. What I knew was that they have a good selection of beans for sale and consumption so of course I had to taste it before they are gone too.

This is the coffee bar area. Decor reminds me of The Druggists, except with coffee.

There's more seating area when you walk into the shophouse for maybe 15-18 pax and a semi air-conditioned al fresco area just out back, where the kitchen is also at. This internal area is probably the best in Singapore's heat, and there's no food smell as well.

Here are the menus for VXX, which surprisingly has some good food too, according to my friend. I have yet to try but the mac and cheese is calling my name. The menu changes very frequently so I hope it will still be there!

Then I had a cup of flat white (S$5). It's a really good cup of java. Smooth, fragrant, light and slightly sweet. I could drink it every other day! If you are looking for a good cafe in the Jalan Besar area that is NOT The Bravery or CSHH, VXX Cooperative is the place to go.
