Deal Alert: 3-course Lunch S$48 for 2 at Monti, Fullerton 1- Pavilion, Singapore 049327

This is probably the greatest lunch promo and deal in town for the month of April during weekdays, which is why I am posting my food review at Monti quickly for you guys to make it down! During lunch time from 12-2pm, it is only S$48++ for 2 pax for a three-course set lunch (excluding their fabulous onion & thyme bread with nori butter). Which means $24 each!

Have a look at the menus (non-vegetarian)

We started with some delicious and freshly baked onion and thyme bread with nori butter (in a toothpaste-like squeeze tube! We heard that chef and the team puts the butter into those tubes themselves. How interesting!)

We then had some fat juicy pan-seared Hokkaido scallops, which was topped by some truffle caviar, making the dish extremely appetising. 

For mains, the Pan-Seared White Cod was great - the plating was fantastic and the taste of the fatty cod was complemented well with the salty parma ham wrapped around it.

Alternatively the 48-Hour Sous Vide Beef Short Rib was the other option, which was also fab. It is a little heavy on the palate though, especially for lunch.

And here's the vegetarian lunch menu. Yes we tried both for dinner! 

The course started with some Burrata Cheese with Sicilian eggplant and some really juicy heritage tomato marinated with sour plum.

This Acquarello Risotto as a main was phenomenal. It was done just right and the mushrooms, together with the chestnuts, had a party with the pistachios and cream-free risotto (it's all just cheese!) I would come back just for more of this alone. 

Their house-made tagliatelle comes fresh from their pasta room, but I found the flavour rather one-dimensional, unfortunately. However, I taste potential for other pastas from Monti to be up to scratch so I'll be back to try!

We also had the super yummy Brunelo red wine 4-hour poached pear (infused with spices) with visanto jelly with as the dessert course for both menus. I really enjoyed the slight crunch and freshness of the pear which was not completely poached through, matched with the tart and sweetness of the jelly and ice cream.
