For those wondering if I have a favourite fish and chips shop in Singapore, I do. It's Lad & Dad at Tanjong Pagar Plaza! There was one called Wok Inn at POMO long time back (who shifted from TPY and apparently back again??) that I liked but status of is unknown now. I've also tried the one at Katong (didn't really like it much) and Fish & Chicks at AMK (so-so). But Lad & Dad wins hands down for me in 2022.
I didn't manage to take pics of the menu so you might want to refer to this blogpost (even though it's from 2020). We ordered the Pilsner Urquell ($14) which was so satisfyingly smooth with the thick foam.
Then me and my friend both had the classic Fish & Chips (S$16) which was with beer battered Atlantic haddock, straight cut chips, tartar sauce and mushy peas. The fries were really good by the way but the fish stole the show with its crispy but light exterior and fresh juicy and flaky haddock.
Even though I only tried the beer and fish & chips from Lad & Dad they were so good I hope to be back again to try their other things though it will be difficult not to order the F&S again! Would recommend this place if you want an authentic and delicious British Fish & Chips in Singapore.
