Italian Food Review: Osteria BBR by Alain Ducasse at Raffles Hotel, 1 Beach Rd, Singapore 189673

I went to an Italian restaurant called Osteria BBR for my birthday this year which sounded quite interesting due to the Alain Ducasse name. The entire restaurant was gigantic, located inside Raffles hotel. The experience was overall positive, though I am not entirely convinced with the food as it was overshadowed by the nice place, wine and huge price tag. It's the kind of place for people who do not look at the prices of items before ordering.

The free bread was delicious.

The octopus with potato foam came in this size and I believe it's S$38. Ouch! Yes it was nice and tender and delicate, but I don't think it justifies a main course price.

The Maine lobster fusilli pasta was S$48. It was really tasty if you don't look at the price tag. I'm sorry I did. I guess lobster's considered a luxury ingredient..

We also had the Black Angus beef tenderloin (S$78) to share, and a side of asparagus. The beef was cooked to perfection but honestly could be mistaken as a tasting portion.

I can't remember what dessert we got, but it was not bad.

The meal was nice overall but that's a 4-letter word and you don't want to go to a nice restaurant, you want to go to a great one. Sadly I don't think I can recommend it.

🙅 Thank you, next ✔️
