If you’re a fan of Spanish wine and tapas, here’s some exciting news—the Eat Spain Drink Spain campaign is back for its second year (and edition) in Singapore after a very successful first edition last year from now until 15 October! This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of being invited to The Butcher’s Dog, a charming indie butchery nestled behind Bukit Timah Plaza for a taste of this Spanish gastronomic celebration with the launch of their Saturday Brunch Series until 15 Oct.
The Butcher’s Dog may not be a Spanish establishment, but they’ve partnered with Eat Spain Drink Spain to bring the flavours of Spain to our shores. On top of their usual gourmet premium cuts, this year they’re hosting a Spanish Tapas Discovery Brunch Series every Saturday from 21 September to 15 October 2024. At just $90 nett per person, diners will get to enjoy 3-4 glasses of premium Spanish wines poured from their wine dispenser and get a set of tapas featuring standout Spanish food like like ECOLAH’s AR DE ARTE mussel tapenade, tuna chunks and cheeses paired with bread and olives.
Though I was the only media person there, my time at The Butcher’s Dog was nothing short of enjoyable. This cosy butchery, with its dine-in section and pet-friendly outdoor area, has become a beloved spot in the Bukit Timah neighbourhood. It’s a place where you can indulge in a quality meal and even bring your furry friend along (the outdoor seats are pet-friendly)! They serve everything from gourmet cuts for your home-cooked meals to ready-to-eat dishes, making it a versatile spot for any occasion.

One of the highlights of my visit was trying out the Spanish wines, and they certainly did not disappoint. The Butcher’s Dog is equipped with a nifty WineStation machine that dispenses your choice of wine—simply insert a prepaid card and wine pours from the spout into a waiting glass. I opted for a refreshing Spanish white wine to kick things off and followed it up with a rich Rioja.
The best part? I managed to get a double pour from the machine on my Rioja, haha.
The wines were, of course, perfectly complemented by a selection of delightful tapas. From olives to grilled sausage, the variety and flavours transported me straight to the Iberian Peninsula.
The event also offers exclusive discounts, including 10% off store purchases and 15% off wine purchases of six bottles or more—perfect for those who want to take a bit of Spain home with them.
