There were plenty of beautiful cakes on display for SGD8-9 per slice, as well as some colourful eclairs. Some of the cakes had interesting flavour combinations like Strawberry and Guava, and there's also an Gateau "Orling" (orange in Singlish) cake.
Here's the initial menu for reference. It might have been updated since I went (on 15 Nov 15). Prices are slightly hefty.
They are apparently famous for their waffles. Competition is tough though, with Salted Caramel just down the street.
We ordered the Thai Milk Tea ice cream with Earl Grey Waffle ($15.90), a pot of 1872 Clipper Earl Grey tea ($5.50), as well as a Lychee Rose Raspberry cake ($10).
The waffle with ice cream was yummy. Is it worth 16 dollars? Probably not. But can you make this at home? No. So we have to shell out the dough for the dough. Maybe it is more palatable if 3 people shared the cost for one, just for taste, haha.
The Rose Lychee Raspberry cake was awesome though, and I would pay that $10 again to have (share) it. It looked so pretty!
Cutting into it revealed a raspberry center. The whole cake was really delicate, with flavours nicely balanced. It's difficult to make cakes taste so fine. I'll recommend trying the cakes here if you are a fan of Mad About Sucre.
Great cakes, tea and waffles, if you can stomach the cost for sweet treats, this is a good place to go.
