Discover 16 Certified Restaurants from Spain in Singapore: Part 2

ICEX Spain has awarded 16 Spanish restaurants in Singapore with a Restaurants From Spain certificate, which recognises the authenticity and quality of the Spanish food from the awarded restaurants. Most of them also use imported produce from Spain which features delectable cured meat, cheese and wine.

The Restaurants From Spain certification programme was started in 2021 to promote authentic Spanish restaurants worldwide and in Singapore, 16 restaurants have been awarded the certificate of authenticity in July 2023. I learned that this certificate is renewed yearly IF the restaurant passes the strict evaluation process to ensure that everything's authentic. I've shared details for 8 of the 16 restaurants in this post so read it if you haven't, and here's the next 8!

9. Olivia Restaurant and Lounge

55 Keong Saik Rd., #01-03, Singapore 089158

Stepping into Olivia transports you to a Mediterranean home, with hearty and honest flavours from Barcelona presented in an elevated homestyle cooking by Chef and co-owner Alain Devahive, who has worked in Michelin-starred restaurants like El Bulli.

10. Pura Brasa

5 Wallich St, #01-16, Singapore 078883

I've actually been here this year for a pre-cocktail festival dinner so we only had light bites, and this place was just perfect for that! But what really shone was the warm, attentive service of the place despite how crowded they were. I didn't know this but Pura Brasa is a Barcelona restaurant chain created by the charcoal oven brand Josper® with its only overseas outlet in Singapore.

Open daily 12pm-11pm

11. Tapas,24

60 Robertson Quay, #01-04 The Quayside, Singapore 238252

I've actually been here during the pandemic a couple of times (and reviewed it) and found the food there to be very similar if not on par with the one in Barcelona that I've also made a point to visit. So it's no surprise that they got this accreditation! Tapas,24 has been an institution in Barcelona since its inception in 2006 and I am so glad that L'Angélus Group managed to bring that signature Barcelona lifestyle here.

Thursdays to Sundays 12pm to 12am (opens from 5pm on Mon-Wed)

12. Tapas Club (3 branches)

1 HarbourFront Walk, #01-98/99 VivoCity, Singapore 098585

Tapas Club offers exactly what the name says - casual Spanish authentic tapas. I must have tried it at least once at one of their branches. They are at Vivo, Jewel and Orchard Central. Such places are great for groups and communal sharing over classic tapas dishes like paella, Spanish omelette and garlic prawns (mmm one of my favs!).

Open daily 12pm-10pm (10.30pm for Fri-Sat)

15. Next Door Spanish Cafe

699 East Coast Rd, Singapore 459061

Dreamt up by two friends who wanted to bring a piece of Spain to our sunny shores, the Next Door Spanish Cafe is by Chef Houssein Hafian, who studied at the culinary school of Gijon, with Chef Javier Rejas originally from Valencia. I think the name already sort of describe the vibe you're going to get - nothing pretentious, just homely and classically good food!

Google 4.3 stars, 621 reviews | Reservations

16. UNA at The Alkaff Mansion

10 Telok Blangah Green, Level 2, Singapore 109178

Definitely a date night spot, UNA on Level 2 of the Alkaff Mansion serves up heritage Spanish food with an innovative spin at an elevated level to delight diners at their romantic restaurant. Expect drama on the plates and on the palate!
