Was invited to the launch of a new cafe and space opened by my primary school band senior (:O) today. It was just a few doors down my office at Tanjong Pagar area, and I've been passing by everyday and saw its process from an empty space to now. Definitely intrigued to check it out, and wanted to show some support as well!

It is called The Pigeonhole. Here's a short introduction on what's it about on their tumblr:
The Pigeonhole is a book cafe and dynamic arts space run by Rayner Lim and Ave Chan, promoting local NGOs, music, film, fine arts and performing arts.
It's a really chill concept and place because the space is open, and filled with eclectic furniture sourced from all over singapore by the owners. Thus it has a very homely yet 'indie' vibe to it. Definitely a great way to un-sleaze the area that is Duxton Road. In fact, we've noticed that this area has been upping its 'cool' ante recently with the addition of art galleries, cool cafes, bookstore and patisseries.

Here's some pictures taken. Do drop by next time and chill out or take part in their many events happening like powerpoint ktv and discussions. Join their Facebook page for more info.

Especially loved the glossy red floor and the exposed beams with wiring.

Their menu is styled like a legal document (because the lady boss used to be in that line!). Very cool. We had their coffees, which are reasonably priced :)

We didn't manage to get food on opening day, but I'll be back to try it when it's available! The menu looks great for a lunch time fix. Heard that food won't be available indefinitely at the cafe, but hey coffee's good enough!

They have Brothers pear and lemon cider and a range of exotic beers.

Birdhouses on the wall and interesting books dot the cafe on top of super cool furniture.

Vanessa brought along a card game called Sitting Ducks which we played! Great way to spend a lazy Saturday catching up with old friends and chilling.

Go visit them soon!
